Day 4<\/span><\/em><\/h1>\n<p>When talking about Christmas Cards I can&#8217;t help but think of my Nanna.\u00a0 Such an amazing lady who for years would\u00a0faithfully send Christmas cards with a newsletter tucked inside to family and friends all around the world.\u00a0 As a result she would receive many in return.\u00a0 I still remember going to visit her in her 2 bedroom Unit, and being amazed by how on every wall of her living room there hung a string displaying Christmas cards she had received\u00a0that year.\u00a0 In fact there was usually one that hung across the room too, causing us to duck our heads as we made a be-line\u00a0for the antique rocking chair.<\/p>\n<p>Now while I doubt I will ever get as many cards as my Nanna, I usually get a few each year which lead me to search for a simple yet creative way to display them.\u00a0 Having seen a number of appealing ideas this is the one I chose to make.<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_62\" style=\"width: 780px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-62\" class=\" wp-image-62 \" title=\"The Christmas Card Frame\" src=\"http:\/\/www.asyouwish.co.nz\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/11\/dscf1831-1024x823.jpg\" alt=\"The Christmas Card Frame\" width=\"770\" height=\"618\" \/><p id=\"caption-attachment-62\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">The Christmas Card Frame<\/p><\/div>\n<p>I liked this idea because it was simple yet effective.\u00a0 It also keeps all the cards together in one space and frames them like a work of art.<\/p>\n<p>It was very easy to make.\u00a0 I bought a large framed picture from the second hand shop and remove the picture that was in it.\u00a0 I then gave it a light sand before giving it 2-3 coats of <a title=\"Resene\" href=\"http:\/\/www.resene.co.nz\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Resene Paints&#8217; <\/a>&#8211; Red Berry.\u00a0 One test pot was plenty and it\u00a0only cost $4.30.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\" wp-image-71 aligncenter\" title=\"Christmas Card Frame - Step by Step\" src=\"http:\/\/www.asyouwish.co.nz\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/11\/Christmas-Card-Frame-Step-by-Step-1024x307.jpg\" alt=\"Christmas Card Frame - Step by Step\" width=\"770\" height=\"230\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">Once it had dried I measured out the points to which I attached the gold cord which I purchased from Spotlight.\u00a0 To do this I put a gun staple in the frame and tied the cord to it &#8211;
