To be absolutely honest there are no hard and fast rules on how to throw parties for Kids.\u00a0But if you find yourself\u00a0staring down the barrel of\u00a0a potential party for one of your beloved kiddies, and the whole task seems way too overwhelming – then this\u00a0little formula could be just what you need.<\/p>\n

#1 Invitations:<\/strong> <\/span><\/h5>\n

It’s always a\u00a0great idea to send out\u00a0physical invitations for your party. Whether you hand them out or send them\u00a0in the post, physical invitations that reflect the theme of\u00a0your party\u00a0are far more likely to\u00a0grab people’s attention, than those sent via text, email or Facebook. They also\u00a0begin to create an anticipation for the special day, which means people are far more likely\u00a0to come.<\/p>\n

#2 The Food<\/strong><\/span><\/h5>\n

When it comes to the menu for a kids party I always start with 3 savoury food\u00a0options, 3 sweet food options, a mini candy buffet (usually consisting of 3\u00a0types of candy that somehow\u00a0connect to the theme), and drink.\u00a0I also tend to\u00a0try and make sure that at least a couple of the\u00a0food options are healthy –\u00a0just for balance. If you wish to add more, go for it, I just find this is a great starting point. Oh and if you value your sanity at all, don’t serve drinks with red colouring (i.e. raspberry fizzy drink) it can make some kids go absolutely crazy – let’s just say I have learnt the hard way.<\/p>\n

#3 The Entertainment<\/strong><\/span><\/h5>\n

I’m a huge fan of old school party games and creative activities, so I usually tend to\u00a0have about\u00a03 of these. Sometimes it is\u00a02 games and 1 activity, other times it is\u00a02 activities and 1 game. I think it often depends on the age of the children – for example a couple of parties that I have done for children\u00a0under 3, I have\u00a0chosen to do activities only. Of course if you have the budget you can always\u00a0hire a bouncy castle and face-painter too.<\/p>\n

#4 Decorations<\/strong><\/span><\/h5>\n

When decorating for a kids party I always start with two main areas – the food table and the guests’ table. If you get those looking fabulous you’ll definitely get ‘Oooos and aahhs’ as guests arrive. Once again there is always room to go a little further if you want too – so that is when I look for\u00a0areas around the party space that just lend themselves to being decorated. These areas can\u00a0include places like\u00a0entrance ways and party games & activity stations.<\/p>\n

#5 The Cake<\/strong><\/span><\/h5>\n

What’s a birthday party without cake right? Whether you make it yourself or buy one, the right choice can also become a great decorative centrepiece for your food table (Mmmmm,\u00a0decorations that taste good). Not to mention that important moment when everyone gathers around to sing ‘Happy Birthday’.<\/p>\n

So there you have it one super fab formula for awesome kid’s parties. 1+2+3+4+5 = totally achievable!<\/p>\n
