{"id":262,"date":"2014-01-01T10:09:45","date_gmt":"2013-12-31T22:09:45","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.asyouwish.co.nz\/blog\/?p=262"},"modified":"2016-01-13T10:19:30","modified_gmt":"2016-01-12T21:19:30","slug":"christmas-foyer-decor","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/asyouwish.co.nz\/blog\/christmas-foyer-decor\/","title":{"rendered":"Christmas Foyer Decor"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>This year I was asked to decorate our church&#8217;s foyer for the Christmas season.\u00a0 The flyer for the Christmas Production served as my inspiration which lead to a colour scheme of gold, black, and white with a touch of\u00a0silver and yellow.\u00a0 Although the church had a collection of decorations such as the trees and a few ornaments, some shopping was still needed to create a look that was\u00a0new.\u00a0 My\u00a0favourite shopping finds were from <a title=\"The Clearance Shed\" href=\"https:\/\/www.theclearanceshed.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">The Clearance Shed <\/a>where I\u00a0found the extra large gold baubles and stylish cushion covers.<\/p>\n<p>One of the permanent features in the foyer is a large blackboard wall.\u00a0 On this wall\u00a0my assistant and I drew up the same scene at\u00a0was pictured on the Christmas Production flyer.\u00a0 The mural was done completely in chalk,\u00a0apart from the gold banner which was printed onto paper, cut out and stuck on.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-263\" title=\"Christmas Foyer Decor 1\" src=\"http:\/\/www.asyouwish.co.nz\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/01\/For-the-Blog-Page-001-791x1024.jpg\" alt=\"Christmas Foyer Decor 1\" width=\"770\" height=\"996\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The lowest cost item with the biggest impact had to be the wall hangings.\u00a0 The frames\u00a0had been sitting around for a while having been\u00a0recused from the recycling pile.\u00a0 I pulled these apart and using some stripy wrapping paper and\u00a0some beautiful chalkboard printables I found online at <a title=\"Christmas Printables\" href=\"http:\/\/www.nestofposies-blog.com\/2012\/11\/5-free-christmas-chalkboard-printables\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Nest of Poises <\/a>and <a title=\"Christmas Printables\" href=\"http:\/\/www.lovepomegranatehouse.com\/christmas-chalkboard-printables\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Love, Pomegranate\u00a0House <\/a>I put them together again to create some stunning wall hangings &#8211; all for the cost of the wrapping paper.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-264\" title=\"Christmas Foyer Decor 2\" src=\"http:\/\/www.asyouwish.co.nz\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/01\/For-the-Blog-Page-002-791x1024.jpg\" alt=\"Christmas Foyer Decor 2\" width=\"770\" height=\"996\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The look was finished off with a few clusters of faux\u00a0presents\u00a0and some icicle fairy lights.\u00a0 Overall a reasonably low cost project that looked fabulous.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>This year I was asked to decorate our church&#8217;s foyer for the Christmas season.\u00a0 The flyer for the Christmas Production served as my inspiration which lead to a colour scheme of gold, black, and white with a touch of\u00a0silver and [&hellip;]<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":2,"featured_media":0,"comment_status":"open","ping_status":"open","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"footnotes":""},"categories":[33,37,31],"tags":[],"class_list":["post-262","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","hentry","category-as-you-wish-events-latest","category-christmas","category-parties-for-adults"],"_links":{"self":[{"href":"https:\/\/asyouwish.co.nz\/blog\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/262","targetHints":{"allow":["GET"]}}],"collection":[{"href":"https:\/\/asyouwish.co.nz\/blog\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts"}],"about":[{"href":"https:\/\/asyouwish.co.nz\/blog\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/types\/post"}],"author":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/asyouwish.co.nz\/blog\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/users\/2"}],"replies":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/asyouwish.co.nz\/blog\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/comments?post=262"}],"version-history":[{"count":2,"href":"https:\/\/asyouwish.co.nz\/blog\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/262\/revisions"}],"predecessor-version":[{"id":2049,"href":"https:\/\/asyouwish.co.nz\/blog\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/262\/revisions\/2049"}],"wp:attachment":[{"href":"https:\/\/asyouwish.co.nz\/blog\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media?parent=262"}],"wp:term":[{"taxonomy":"category","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/asyouwish.co.nz\/blog\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/categories?post=262"},{"taxonomy":"post_tag","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/asyouwish.co.nz\/blog\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/tags?post=262"}],"curies":[{"name":"wp","href":"https:\/\/api.w.org\/{rel}","templated":true}]}}
